Equality once and for allThe Canadian Labour Congress’ Women’s and Human Rights Department and Women’s Committee work to ensure the full equality of all women in Canadian society and internationally.

Issues such as child care, pay equity, racism, access to jobs and training, homophobia, choice, employment equity, discrimination against women with disabilities, organizing women, good jobs and harassment – are included in the union women’s equality work.

We organize conferences, workshops, symposia and think-tanks to develop our appreciation of the impact of corporate and government policies on women and to share approaches to solutions. We lobby governments and run campaigns to win rights for women and work with and within the women’s movement and have been part of women’s organizing worldwide through the World March of Women and the international labour movement.
