Twenty school bus drivers, affiliated with Local Union 1791 of the Teamsters Union and employed by Autobus Magog in Estrie, voted in assembly on May 12 unanimously for a strike mandate.

Between 1,500 and 2,000 students at the Centre de services scolaires des Patriotes could be deprived of school transportation if a labour dispute is called. Several elementary and high schools would be affected, including du Moulin, Des Quatre-Vents, Arc-en-Ciel, Saint-Paul, Trinity and Durocher.

Workers at school bus company Intersco ratified their first collective agreement yesterday. The agreement stands to significantly improve their working conditions. Teamsters Local Union 106 represents employees at the Verchères, QC company which covers the Commission scolaire des Patriotes school board.

A union meeting took place today in Gatineau, Outaouais, where 100 school bus drivers, who are members of the Teamsters Local Union 106, ratified a 6-year collective agreement with Autobus Campeau.
