Teamsters Canada is satisfied with the Trudeau Government’s third budget. The union is pleased that the government is taking small steps toward creating a national pharmacare program. However, the government should increase infrastructure investments in coming budgets, and do more to help Canadians through the coming wave of automation and technological changes.

Teamsters Denounce False Reports of Work Stoppage by Union Drivers in Puerto Rico

Stories Fabricated and Spread by Biased Online Sources to Further Anti-Union Agenda. The Teamsters Union denounces reports from online, anti-union sources that stated Teamster truck drivers in Puerto Rico have refused to move supplies from the port as part of an effort to leverage wage increases from the government. These reports are false and have no basis in fact.

Remembering Canada’s Worst Armoured Car Tragedy

On June 15, 2012, we lost three members of Teamsters Local Union 362 in an armoured car robbery in Edmonton. Their names were Michelle Shegelski, Brian Ilesic, and Eddie Rejano. A fourth armoured car guard was also shot but survived with gruesome and life alternating injuries. 

Significant wage gains for Ottawa’s Metro Ontario warehouse workers

Metro Ontario warehouse workers in Ottawa ratified an important new 5-year collective agreement on Sunday. These 120 members of Teamsters Local 91 obtained a minimum immediate increase of $2.25 per hour with full retroactivity to March 31. The average immediate wage increase for these essential supply chain workers ranges from 9% to 25% dependent upon their seniority.
