Sisters, Brothers,
I am happy to announce that I have appointed Sister Mariam Abou-Dib as Executive Director of Teamsters Canada. This appointment is in line with the reorganization of Teamsters Canada’s administrative services, which aims to maximize the use of our resources and our employees’ expertise to ensure that all matters requiring action from the national office are covered. This change is effective as of today.
Sister Mariam Abou-Dib will be responsible, among other things, for coordinating the activities of the following departments: Communications and Public Affairs, Government Affairs and Political Action, Research and Policy, and International Affiliations (other than the IBT).
Teamsters Canada affiliates are invited to communicate directly with Sister Abou-Dib to take advantage of our services.
Other announcements of an administrative and political nature will be made over the next few weeks. I intend to continue consulting members of the National Executive Board to reach the consensus necessary for the proper functioning of our organization.
Please join me in wishing Sister Abou-Dib success in fulfilling her new duties.
In solidarity,
François Laporte
President, Teamsters Canada
International Vice President, International Brotherhood of Teamsters
