(Brampton, ON) – Workers at Baldinger Sons Bakery voted YES to Teamsters Local 647’s representation on December 7, 2021, despite facing intense pressure from management.

Members of all shifts gave their full dedication and strong efforts in supporting the union drive, and they worked tirelessly to communicate and organize. Together, the workers at Sons Bakery refused to cave under the tactics management tried to use to dissuade workers from unionizing at their plant in Brampton, Ontario.

“Local 647 is excited to work with such a passionate and hard-working group of people,” says Martin Cerqua, President of Local 647. “We’re looking forward to building a fair Collective Agreement together that will give these workers a strong voice at work.”

Teamsters Local Union No. 647 represents Dairy, Bakery and Caterers, with members working in the fluid milk, ice cream, fresh and frozen bakery, margarine and mayonnaise production and distribution, and catering and distribution in Ontario.
