A new labour contract was ratified by the workers of YRC Reimer on February 6. These members of Teamsters Local Union 106 will receive a 17% wage increase for the entire five-year term of the contract. In addition, the defined benefit pension plan has been improved. Other gains were obtained in the standard clauses.
Another important victory: the group insurance is paid in full by the employer for the current year and the increases for the other three years of the labour contract will be covered in part only by the workers.
The employer’s offers were ratified by 80% of the members present at the union meeting. The previous contract expired in April 2021. YRC Reimer’s 60 truckers make deliveries locally and in the United States.
