Unifirst Workers in Langley Win 15% Raise, End Strike

Workers at Unifirst Canada in Langley, BC, voted 93% earlier this week to end their four-week strike and ratify a new three-year contract. Workers secured an inflation-beating 10% raise in the first year, a 2% raise in the second, and a 3% raise in the third. Drivers at the company also secured bonuses. 

Teamsters Canada represents 125,000 members in all industries across the country. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with which Teamsters Canada is affiliated, represents 1.4 million workers in North America.

Teamsters Vote to Reauthorize Strikes at CN and CPKC

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference (TCRC) today announced that close to 10,000 workers at CN and CPKC have voted to reauthorize strikes at both companies, if negotiated settlements cannot be reached. Overall, workers voted 98.6% to reauthorize a strike, with an 89.5% turnout.
