Course Prerequisite: No prerequisite course is required to register for this course.
Description: This course is designed for newly elected shop stewards.
This course gives the tools to represent and build confidence in defending our members. More specifically to:
- Review the role of the shop steward;
- Learn the difference between a grievance, a complaint and a disagreement;
- Define how to handle a grievance;
- Draft grievances properly;
- Understand the arbitration procedure;
- Develop the ability to testify as a witness.
