{"id":9257,"date":"2019-03-15T15:49:38","date_gmt":"2019-03-15T19:49:38","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/teamsters.ca\/?p=9257"},"modified":"2019-06-27T20:38:27","modified_gmt":"2019-06-27T20:38:27","slug":"les-teamsters-interviennent-en-faveur-de-lutilisation-des-freins-a-main-sur-les-trains","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/teamsters.ca\/fr\/blog\/2019\/03\/15\/les-teamsters-interviennent-en-faveur-de-lutilisation-des-freins-a-main-sur-les-trains\/","title":{"rendered":"Les Teamsters interviennent en faveur de l\u2019utilisation des freins \u00e0 main sur les trains"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Laval, le 15 mars 2019 \u2014 La Conf\u00e9rence ferroviaire de Teamsters Canada (CFTC) a demand\u00e9 aujourd&rsquo;hui le statut d&rsquo;intervenant afin d&rsquo;appuyer la directive de Transports Canada qui exige l&rsquo;utilisation de freins \u00e0 main lorsque les trains s&rsquo;arr\u00eatent dans une pente montagneuse apr\u00e8s avoir utilis\u00e9 leur syst\u00e8me de freinage d&rsquo;urgence. Cette intervention des Teamsters aupr\u00e8s du gouvernement canadien a pour objectif de s\u2019opposer au Canadien Pacifique (CP), au Canadien National (CN) et \u00e0 l&rsquo;Association des chemins de fer du Canada (ACFC) contestent cette directive devant les tribunaux.<\/p>\n<p>Cet ordre du gouvernement a \u00e9t\u00e9 donn\u00e9 \u00e0 la suite du d\u00e9raillement d&rsquo;un train du CP pr\u00e8s de la localit\u00e9 de Field en Colombie-Britannique. Rappelons que cette trag\u00e9die a co\u00fbt\u00e9 la vie \u00e0 trois cheminots membres de la CFTC.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u00ab Le syst\u00e8me de freinage \u00e0 air est con\u00e7u pour contr\u00f4ler le mouvement d\u2019un train en mouvement. Les freins m\u00e9caniques \u2013 \u00e0 savoir les freins \u00e0 main \u2013 sont con\u00e7us pour bien immobiliser un train qui s\u2019est d\u00e9j\u00e0 arr\u00eat\u00e9. Apr\u00e8s une situation d\u2019urgence, un train doit \u00eatre immobilis\u00e9 pour \u00e9valuer et corriger la situation en toute s\u00e9curit\u00e9, sans que le train bouge par accident, a expliqu\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident de la CFTC, Lyndon Isaak. La directive de Transports Canada mandate l\u2019utilisation de freins \u00e0 main, la quantit\u00e9 de freins \u00e0 main \u00e9tant d\u00e9termin\u00e9e par le poids du train et la pente sur lequel il se trouve, pour s\u2019assurer que l\u2019\u00e9quipement ferroviaire ne bouge pas, assurant ainsi la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 les employ\u00e9s et du public. \u00bb<\/p>\n<p>\u00ab Il est impossible de d\u00e9terminer en ce moment s&rsquo;il existe ou non des alternatives plus s\u00fbres aux freins \u00e0 main. Par prudence, nous croyons que la directive du gouvernement devrait demeurer en vigueur jusqu&rsquo;\u00e0 ce que nous ayons plus de renseignements sur le d\u00e9raillement de Field. Toutes alternatives \u00e0 la directive de Transports Canada devront aussi \u00eatre \u00e9tudi\u00e9es et test\u00e9es pour garantir la s\u00e9curit\u00e9, \u00bb a ajout\u00e9 M. Isaak.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>La demande des transporteurs ferroviaires sera entendue par le Tribunal d&rsquo;appel des transports du Canada.
