Estim\u00e9 \u00e0 12 milliards $, ce projet d\u2019ol\u00e9oduc et de corridor \u00e9nerg\u00e9tique entre Fort McMurray (Alberta) et Grassy Point (C.-B.) sera dirig\u00e9 par les Premi\u00e8res Nations.<\/p>\n<p>Approuv\u00e9e par chacune des Premi\u00e8res Nations le long du trac\u00e9 envisag\u00e9, l\u2019initiative sera le premier grand projet d\u2019infrastructure men\u00e9 par des Autochtones dans l\u2019histoire du Canada. Le projet procurera du travail \u00e0 des milliers de travailleurs de la construction et sera une nouvelle source de revenus pour les pouvoirs publics et les communaut\u00e9s autochtones.<\/p>\n<p>Comme c\u2019est g\u00e9n\u00e9ralement le cas lors de projets aussi importants et ambitieux, des membres des quatre syndicats de m\u00e9tiers du Canada (Teamsters Canada, IUOE, UA et LiUNA) assureront la construction de l\u2019ol\u00e9oduc et des stations de pompage. Un protocole d\u2019entente a \u00e9t\u00e9 sign\u00e9 \u00e0 cet effet plus t\u00f4t ce mois-ci.<\/p>\n<p>L\u2019entente entre l\u2019entreprise et les syndicats comprend des dispositions pr\u00e9voyant d\u2019associer au projet des entreprises et des r\u00e9sidents locaux, ainsi que des membres des Premi\u00e8res Nations durant toute la phase de construction.
