Le confr\u00e8re Mike Mathis, Relations gouvernementales FIT, et le confr\u00e8re Bill Black, directeur l\u00e9gislatif, Conseil conjoint #43 du Michigan, se sont joints au confr\u00e8re George Hucker, Affaires gouvernementales, Conf\u00e9rence ferroviaire de Teamsters Canada, et Phil Benson, lobbyiste, Teamsters Canada, pour rencontrer les leaders du gouvernement, les porte-paroles de l\u2019opposition et les repr\u00e9sentants officiels du minist\u00e8re des Transports, pour discuter de questions qui pr\u00e9occupent nos membres des deux c\u00f4t\u00e9s des fronti\u00e8res. <\/p>\n<p> Deux questions ont davantage retenu l\u2019attention.  La premi\u00e8re, c\u2019est le besoin d\u2019une infrastructure transfrontali\u00e8re et notre principal int\u00e9r\u00eat, c\u2019est le projet du tunnel de la rivi\u00e8re D\u00e9troit.  Le \u00ab Jobs TunnelTM \u00bb est pr\u00eat \u00e0 \u00eatre construit avec des caract\u00e9ristiques r\u00e9pondant aux besoins de l\u2019industrie du transport et du public.  Le projet du tunnel de la rivi\u00e8re D\u00e9troit est le seul projet qui permettrait de diversifier les options des chauffeurs de camions qui traversent les fronti\u00e8res, tout en r\u00e9pondant \u00e0 d\u2019importantes questions de s\u00e9curit\u00e9.  La deuxi\u00e8me concerne nos propositions visant \u00e0 acc\u00e9l\u00e9rer le processus pour les travailleurs du transport qui traversent la fronti\u00e8re. <\/p>\n<p> Nous esp\u00e9rons pouvoir poursuivre ce dialogue \u00e0 Washington plus tard cette ann\u00e9e. <\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Teamsters Canada et la Fraternit\u00e9 internationale des Teamsters ont tenu un lobby intensif de deux jours sur la Colline du Parlement.
