Il est ind&eacute;niable que le projet de r&egrave;glement &agrave; la Loi 16 apporte des changements souhaitables pour corriger la situation, mais les Teamsters constatent n&eacute;anmoins des lacunes qu&rsquo;il faudrait combler le plus rapidement possible.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Seuils minimaux de main-d&rsquo;&oelig;uvre<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Par exemple, l&rsquo;&eacute;tablissement de seuils minimaux de main d&rsquo;&oelig;uvre repr&eacute;sente un enjeu majeur pour les travailleuses et travailleurs de l&rsquo;industrie. Les propositions du gouvernement sont insuffisantes et ne correspondent pas aux besoins des a&icirc;n&eacute;s. <\/p>\n<p>Par cons&eacute;quent, le syndicat des Teamsters sugg&egrave;re un minimum d&rsquo;un salari&eacute; par tranche de 100 a&icirc;n&eacute;s autonomes pour les premiers 300 a&icirc;n&eacute;s et d&rsquo;un salari&eacute; par tranche de 200 a&icirc;n&eacute;s par la suite.<\/p>\n<p>Pour ce qui est des a&icirc;n&eacute;s semi-autonomes, les Teamsters recommandent la pr&eacute;sence d&rsquo;au moins un salari&eacute; par tranche de 30 a&icirc;n&eacute;s pour les 90 premiers et d&rsquo;un salari&eacute; par tranche de 100 a&icirc;n&eacute;s par la suite.<\/p>\n<p>&laquo;&nbsp;Les a&icirc;n&eacute;s paient cher pour louer une chambre; par cons&eacute;quent, ils m&eacute;ritent de pouvoir y vivre en s&eacute;curit&eacute;, explique Jean Chartrand, pr&eacute;sident de la Section locale 106 du syndicat des Teamsters. Qu&rsquo;arriverait-il si deux ou trois urgences survenaient en m&ecirc;me temps et qu&rsquo;il n&rsquo;y avait que deux pr&eacute;pos&eacute;s dans une r&eacute;sidence? Bref, qui met-on de c&ocirc;t&eacute;?&nbsp;&raquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Classifications autonome et semi-autonome<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Un autre enjeu est celui de la classification&nbsp;: autonome ou semi-autonome. Le syndicat des Teamsters est d&rsquo;avis qu&rsquo;il faudrait revoir les m&eacute;thodes de classification individualis&eacute;es des a&icirc;n&eacute;s et pr&eacute;voir un m&eacute;canisme d&rsquo;adaptation des ressources selon l&rsquo;&eacute;volution de leur &eacute;tat de sant&eacute;.<\/p>\n<p>&laquo;&nbsp;Un r&eacute;sident peut avoir subi un infarctus et perdre une partie de son autonomie du jour au lendemain, ajoute Jean Chartrand. La reclassification peut prendre du temps, entrainant de ce fait des probl&eacute;matiques pour l&rsquo;a&icirc;n&eacute; et les travailleurs.&nbsp;&raquo;<\/p>\n<p><strong>Co&ucirc;ts<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Il va sans dire que les propositions des Teamsters ont un co&ucirc;t. Mais Jean Chartrand fait remarquer que la sant&eacute; et la s&eacute;curit&eacute; des r&eacute;sidents et des travailleurs doivent demeurer au centre des pr&eacute;occupations de tous les intervenants dans le dossier.<\/p>\n<p>En tout &eacute;tat de cause, le syndicat des Teamsters restera tr&egrave;s vigilant en ce qui a trait au projet de r&egrave;glement &agrave; la Loi 16.<\/p>\n<p>&laquo;&nbsp;Les enjeux sont grands et les d&eacute;fis de taille, termine le syndicaliste.
