Ces travailleurs sont repr\u00e9sent\u00e9s par la Section locale&nbsp;847 des Teamsters.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u2009J\u2019aimerais f\u00e9liciter le comit\u00e9 de n\u00e9gociation pour son travail acharn\u00e9\u2009\u00bb, a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 le pr\u00e9sident de Teamsters Canada, Fran\u00e7ois Laporte. Ces Canadiens et ces Canadiennes qui travaillent si fort ont toutes les raisons de se r\u00e9jouir d\u2019un tel r\u00e9sultat.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Le syndicat a r\u00e9ussi \u00e0 n\u00e9gocier des hausses salariales variant de 12&nbsp;% \u00e0 18&nbsp;% pour les diff\u00e9rents types d\u2019emploi. L\u2019employeur a aussi accept\u00e9 de supprimer les primes exig\u00e9es pour les assurances collectives, remettant ainsi environ 1000&nbsp;$ par ann\u00e9e dans les poches des travailleurs-euses. Enfin, ils et elles auront d\u00e9sormais droit \u00e0 deux jours de cong\u00e9 de maladie pay\u00e9 par ann\u00e9e, alors qu\u2019ils n\u2019en avaient aucun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u2009Le personnel h\u00f4telier constitue un groupe de salari\u00e9s-\u00e9es essentiels et il est bon de les voir obtenir le respect et la reconnaissance qu\u2019ils m\u00e9ritent de leur employeur\u2009\u00bb, a affirm\u00e9&nbsp;la pr\u00e9sidente de la Section locale&nbsp;847 des Teamsters, Fernanda Santos.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u00ab\u2009N\u2019oubliez pas que les h\u00f4tels offrent un refuge temporaire aux personnes dans le besoin, aident les gens \u00e0 respecter leur quarantaine et \u00e0 s\u2019isoler, et ont contribu\u00e9 \u00e0 loger des travailleurs de la sant\u00e9 durant les premiers jours de la pand\u00e9mie de COVID-19, a-t-elle ajout\u00e9. Le personnel h\u00f4telier permet d\u2019accomplir tout cela.\u2009\u00bb<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Comme les membres de ce personnel travaille en premi\u00e8re ligne, l\u2019un d\u2019entre eux a contract\u00e9 le coronavirus le printemps dernier, mais est compl\u00e8tement r\u00e9tabli. Le syndicat et la direction ont depuis collabor\u00e9 afin d\u2019am\u00e9liorer les protocoles en milieu de travail afin de lutter contre la pand\u00e9mie.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><em>Les Teamsters repr\u00e9sentent les int\u00e9r\u00eats de quelque 125 000&nbsp;membres au Canada.
