Des travailleurs et travailleuses du Canada et des \u00c9tats-Unis joignent les rangs du syndicat.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1976 :<\/strong>&nbsp;La Conf\u00e9rence canadienne des Teamsters est form\u00e9e \u00e0 l\u2019int\u00e9rieur de la Fraternit\u00e9 Internationale des Teamsters en reconnaissance des besoins, des int\u00e9r\u00eats et des aspirations de ses 74 000 membres canadiens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1992 :<\/strong>&nbsp;Une proposition est d\u00e9pos\u00e9e au Comit\u00e9 de direction de la Conf\u00e9rence canadienne des Teamsters pour que son nom soit chang\u00e9 pour \u00ab Teamters Canada \u00bb, en reconnaissance des besoins particuliers et diff\u00e9rents des membres canadiens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1994 :<\/strong>&nbsp;Lors d\u2019un congr\u00e8s de Teamsters Canada, des modifications sont apport\u00e9es aux r\u00e8glements pour accorder \u00e0 Teamsters Canada un plus grand r\u00f4le dans la gestion des affaires de ses membres et des syndicats canadiens affili\u00e9s sur le plan international.<\/p>\n<p><strong>1995 :<\/strong>&nbsp;La Constitution internationale sur la souverainet\u00e9 canadienne est amend\u00e9e, accordant \u00e0 Teamsters Canada plus d\u2019autonomie et de contr\u00f4le sur les enjeux touchant les membres canadiens et cr\u00e9ant le poste de pr\u00e9sident de Teamsters Canada. Le candidat pour ce poste est dor\u00e9navant \u00e9lu par les membres canadiens.<\/p>\n<p><strong>2001 :<\/strong>&nbsp;Un accord historique est conclu entre la Fraternit\u00e9 internationale des Teamsters et Teamsters Canada. L\u2019autonomie des membres, des sections locales, des conseils conjoints et de l\u2019instance nationale du syndicat au Canada est \u00e9tablie. Ils se sont unis en 1903 pour am\u00e9liorer le sort des chauffeurs et des ouvriers d\u2019entrep\u00f4t.<\/p>\n<p>La roue dans notre logo repr\u00e9sente le chariot qui transportait les biens. \u00c0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, un \u00ab Teamster \u00bb \u00e9tait un charretier qui conduisait l\u2019attelage de chevaux. Aujourd\u2019hui, Teamsters Canada am\u00e9liore les conditions de travail et la qualit\u00e9 de vie de nombreux travailleurs et travailleuses dans divers secteurs.
